The IBEX from MountAIn is the world’s first ruggedised, autonomous AI vision sensor built for truly remote monitoring. Combining imaging, edge AI processing, and EchoStar Mobile’s LoRa®-enabled satellite IoT connectivity, IBEX delivers real-time intelligence even where terrestrial networks fail.
Designed as a compact “digital watchman,” IBEX continuously monitors its environment, detects anomalies, and sends event-based alerts directly via satellite or terrestrial networks when available. By processing data on-device, it minimises bandwidth usage, reduces latency, and enables smarter local decisions in the field, without relying on constant cloud access.
With up to three years of autonomy per deployment, solar recharging, and ultra-low power consumption (<50mW), IBEX is engineered for long-term operation in off-grid environments. Its versatility makes it suitable for wildfire detection, asset integrity monitoring, environmental protection, and mobile field operations.
IBEX Applications
IBEX supports a wide range of use cases where continuous monitoring and rapid response are essential:
- Wildfire detection: Proven in live field trials, IBEX detects smoke and fire risks early, enabling faster responses and reducing potential damage.
- Critical infrastructure protection: Monitor pipelines, power grids, railways, and offshore facilities to detect threats, intrusions, or equipment faults.
- Environmental monitoring: Track biodiversity, wildlife movement, air quality, or water conditions in remote landscapes.
- Disaster prevention & response: Detect floods, landslides, and avalanches with multi-sensor inputs, supporting early warnings and post-event recovery.
- Urban intelligence: Support smart city initiatives by counting people, tracking traffic, and enhancing public safety with real-time insights.
