Leverage IoT to Tackle Key Issues in Monitoring Critical Infrastructure
Critical infrastructure that stretches far and wide, such as power lines and pylons or pipelines, can be extremely vulnerable. As it spans extensive distances, this infrastructure can be challenging to monitor regularly. This issue is compounded by the fact that often the infrastructure is in remote areas that are difficult to access and subject to harsh weather conditions.
Critical infrastructure can fall victim to a wide variety of attacks, either via natural conditions, such as the weather, or from humans. This whitepaper concentrates on three of these attacks:
- Metal theft
- Landslides
- Corrosion
However, the solutions described could also be adapted to monitor other risks to critical infrastructure.
