The EM2050 OEM is a dual-mode satellite IoT module capable of transmitting and receiving signals on both licensed 2GHz satellite spectrum (S-band) and sub-GHz EU/US ISM bands, unlocking the potential of Massive IoT and enabling IoT services anywhere using our direct-to-satellite LoRa®-enabled European network.

The EM2050 OEM Module is designed to be embedded into customers’ products, so the system integrator can easily realise a final solution according to specific requirements and user applications.

Based on the Semtech LR1120 radio chipset, the EM2050 includes all the RF components for operation on satellite, having all radio certifications following ETSI, UKCA, FCC and ISED regulations.

Ideal for customers with mobile assets or widely distributed sites, the EM2050 OEM satellite IoT module supports applications including:

EM2050 OEM satellite IoT module key capabilities

Bi-directional, dual-mode capability: Our EM2050 OEM satellite IoT module can transmit LoRa®-FHSS and LoRa® signals and receive LoRa® signals on licensed 2GHz satellite spectrum (S-band) and terrestrial sub-GHz EU/US ISM bands. Moreover, it enables bi-directional connectivity to assets and access to satellite and terrestrial coverage, as required.

Seamless integration: As a member of the LoRa Alliance®, we’ve designed the module to integrate easily into the existing ecosystem. Existing projects can seamlessly connect to our network, extending the coverage where adopting LoRa® may be otherwise problematic.

Low-power consumption: Products can work for years due to the low-power operation and use of sleep mode wherever possible.

Resilient S-band operation: Based on the Semtech LR1120 radio chipset, the EM2050 OEM satellite IoT module includes all the RF components for operation on satellite S-Band. It also operates on LoRa® sub-GHz EU/US ISM bands, compliant with ETSI, UKCA, FCC and ISED regulations.

Supporting product-specific design: The module can be soldered directly to a PCB, supporting a range of product-specific design requirements.
